Illustrated with a fine copper engraved folding map of Guiana, and a double-page copper engraved plate. 20th c. burgundy buckram, paper spine label. Title page with very minor chipping at fore-edge, and an old 2-line bookseller’s description paste at the blank bottom margin with numerous bound-in blanks.
A Dutch translation of Leigh’s voyage to Guiana, first published in London in 1625, in Purchas His Pilgrimes. This Dutch edition was the sixth voyage in Vol. 22 of Pieter Vander Aa’s important collection of early texts on the East and West Indies. The parts are often found separately.
