[East Berlin]: Verl. Die Wirtschaft, 1960. 290 by 410 mm (11½ by 16¼ inches). Oblong illustrated folder with 32 loose placards (complete). Good with brittle paper. East Germany’s Seven Year Plan (1959–1965) was a government plan of modernization, mechanization, and automation. ”The Seven Year Plan is the plan of freedom and of Socialism’s triumph.” (translated). The plan aimed at achieving West Germany’s per capita production by the end of 1961, set higher production quotas, and called for an 85% increase in labor productivity.
This graphically stunning set of 32 placards with bright colors and photo montages celebrates the multitude of achievements of the East German government and its people. Happy factory workers, grain combines, and factories busy producing a better world are all prominently featured.
