Bologna: E Typographeo Saxiano ad Signum Vulpis, 1836–1839. Folio. 4 vols. in 1. (2),iv,80,16,(2);(4),80,(4);(4),80,(4); (4),80,(4)pp. Each vol. with the same copper engraved allegorical frontispiece and engraved title page vignette. The first vol. (for 1837) has an engraved folding geometrical drawing. The third vol. (for 1839) has an engraved folding map of the western hemisphere showing the predicted path of a solar eclipse for 15 March 1839. Cont. calf (minor chipping at extremities of spine) over marbled boards, black calf spine label. This famous series calculated the positions of astronomical bodies for every day at noon for the meridian of Bologna. The series was published for the years 1817–1844, inclusive, under the auspices of the Reale Accademia delle Scienze dell’Instituto di Bologna.
