Title page with copper engraved view of Bologna’s Royal Academy of Science. The second vol. (for 1818) and fourth vol. (for 1820) have engraved folding maps (polar projections of the northern hemisphere) showing the paths of projected eclipses. Cont. marbled boards, nicely rebacked in calf, black calf spine label (mislabeled with the wrong years for the contents of this volume). Occasional foxing. The first volume (covering 5 years) of this famous series on astronomical positions of heavenly bodies calculated for the meridian of Bologna. This series, published under the auspices of the Reale Accademia delle Science dell’Instituto di Bologna, was continued through the year 1844.
