Very good with medium to heavy rubbing of calf; interior lightly browned but crisp.
Extensive and detailed technical guide to brewing beer, with an emphasis on “thick mash”. The book also covers a wide range of international beers such as Belgian ales, English black malt, and pale india ales. Major German breweries and their specific techniques are explained in detailed comparison tables. With technical guides such as this one it is no wonder that German brewing “know-how” was exported around the world with most older breweries in the United States and Mexico founded by German immigrants. The 120-page addendum addresses accounting and bookkeeping for breweries. The author was brew master at Spaten in Munich, still a major brewery today. Your cataloguer’s favorite German beer: Doppelbock.
