Mark founded mark funke, bookseller in 2015 after exiting a two-decade career as a commercial real estate attorney. He has a BS in finance, a Juris Doctor, and clerked on the Washington State Supreme Court. As bookseller, Mark is responsible for acquisitions, research, and writing our descriptions. When not cataloguing books, you will find Mark on the northern California ranch where he grew up or on a plane to Europe. Mark is a German citizen and enjoys bookish pursuits in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Joanna is the owner of Funke Design, an independent graphic design agency in creative partnership with mark funke, bookseller. She has a degree in architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has worked as a licensed architect in three states. At mark funke, bookseller Joanna is responsible for our visual communications including graphic design, typography, photography, and web development.
