Stockholm: Neuer Verlag, [1945]. 200 by 140 mm (7¾ by 5½ inches). Original cloth boards; 342 pp. In German. Inscribed by Feuchtwanger to his literary agent in German: “For Felix Guggenheim. With friendship. Lion Feuchtwanger.” (trans.) Very good with light bumping and soiling to covers.
Lion Feuchtwanger (1884–1958) was a German Jewish novelist and playwright best known for his work Jud Süß. This book is a strange and rather haunting lovely tale of a modern Joan of Arc.
Provenance: Collection of Felix Guggenheim (1904–1976).
