The nine line inscription from Christmas 1946 calls her his “good old lucky devil” and sends greetings to his “little namesake” (which would be, Alfred Kim Guggenheim who was born earlier that year).

Alfred Neumann (1895–1952) was a German author. This book was his most popular publication and is a fictitious account of the devil.
